The following is in addition to the Forumotion Terms of Service (link).

1. Do not post any unsavory content.

This includes pornographic, violent, hateful, racist, sexist, homophobic (or otherwise discriminatory based on creed, culture, religion, ethnicity, nationality, sex, gender, or any other such factor, including 'jokes' based on such comments or views), political content or current world events (including parodies, but excluding fictional politics; current world events in general (not including politics) is allowed only in the board made for this purpose), or any other PG-16+ content. If you wouldn't show it to a small child, don't post it here. Or, if you need a looser guide, if it isn't in Homestuck, don't mention it. : 3

2. Do not harass other users.

This includes continually contacting a user privately against their will; sexually or otherwise insulting, degrading, or giving them unwanted attention. It is not harassment to send a single polite message. It is harassment to send ten when already told not to, or to make remarks about another user's personal life / sexuality / body.

3. Do not share another user's personal information, and do not share your own.

While on this forum, it is not allowed to share information such as personal contact information (aside from a phone number for the express intention of allowing other members to get in contact in anticipation of a meetup) such as your address or other sensitive information. First names and ages are okay, anything that could lead to someone finding out where you live and coming there without express permission is not. Neither is it alright to share personal information such as soliciting dates or talking about private lives in such a manner. You may do so one on one, but not in public, and it is highly discouraged on the forum: please do not do it. It could get yourselves and others in trouble, as well as the forum. Secondly, if you learn another user's sensitive information, you may not share it with any other user. Sharing sensitive information in this manner is not allowed, and will be met with immediate discipline in whatever way suits the offense, depending on what has been shared and how. In most cases, this will still result in a ban.

4. Keep interpersonal relationships civil on the forums.

No matter how you feel about a person, please remain calm and polite (at least) while on the forum. If you are in a romantic relationship with someone, please keep romantic behavior out of the public eye. Public displays of affection are tolerable in small doses, but please behave the way you would if your parents, guardians, or a respected teacher were with you. Modesty and respect are virtues.

5. If you have an issue with another user or a moderator/administrator, please report it using the form provided. (Coming soon.) When you do, being as calm as possible and providing as much proof as possible without making a scene will be more likely to be taken seriously than anything else. If you need to take a breather, do so before submitting your report, and above all else try to be respectful, even to the person you're reporting. Even though they may have done bad things, even if they deserve to be removed from staff because they've done something bad, they still deserve kindness.

6. Do not do something that is generally considered wrong or hurtful just because you think you can, or just because it isn't listed in the rules.

This is a catch-all to mean that you should follow both the letter and the spirit of the rules. If you think that it's the type of thing these rules would include, assume it's included. If you aren't sure, ask a member of staff if it is allowed, but know that it probably isn't if you need to ask. (Still, please do ask! If it's a serious enough subject, or if it's perfectly allowed, these rules may change to reflect that. Which leads us to...)

7. These rules are subject to change at any time. It is your job to keep up to date with them.
